Sweet white clover is incredibly prevalent through the Summer here. It’s weedy and invasive but you can’t miss its subtle floral aromatics. A cross between plumeria and lilac but with an earthy hint of vanilla. In my opinion, it’s such an overlooked highly medicinal plant.

I started solar infusing sweet white clover blossoms into avocado oil, knowing I wanted to keep it simple and just make a topical salve with tallow and beeswax. This plant was traditionally used for treating nerve pain, especially sharp nerve pain. It’s a great topical for varicose veins, bruising and areas with poor circulation.

One note about this plant, is it’s important to use sweet white clover fresh or completely dry, especially if you’re working with the plant internally. It contains coumarin and if it ferments or spoils dicumarol is formed which acts as an anti-vitamin and blocks the body's ability to utilize vitamin K (clotting).
