Kids Wild First Aid
Spring
May 16th 10am
(Geared for ages 4-10 but all ages are welcome)
This is a FREE class to help kiddos ignite that spark for the natural world and feel empowered in their own health and well being!
We wild herby lemonade, coloring pages and lots of info on common first aid plants and their uses and simple preparations like poultices.
As adults, there's nothing more empowering than feeling confident that you're able to take care of yourself and your family. In whatever way that means to you. As a child, there's nothing more empowering than knowing that you can help.
Long gone are the days where herbal knowledge is passed down through generations in the general population. Let's bring that knowledge back! What better way than for kids to know some basic herbal first aid care. We'll learn about one of the most well known and easily identifiable first aid plants that they can use in remedies they can make themselves in case of a bee sting, to heal a minor scrape or even stop minor bleeding. We'll read some folk stories about these plants, color, learn to identify hands on, harvest and then each child can work with the plants hands on! We'll learn about a few ways to use this plant in simple remedies even the youngest of children can do. This class is intended to bring the power back to the kids!
I will have a hold harmless form to be signed at the beginning of the class. Class is on May 16th at 10am at Thompson Roger’s park. There are bathrooms and picnic tables and lots of room to run on the beach. I like to have herb classes in transitional areas like wooded to beach as the diversity in plants is highest.
